The Bellhop Bar Rings in a Limited Engagement at Loews Vanderbilt Hotel

If your travels are infused with that 2018 “glamour” — i.e. wheeled duffel bags and a glass of boxed wine in a plastic cup once you’ve made it to your destination — you might want to swing by Loews Vanderbilt Hotel on West End Avenue. Now through mid-January 2019, they’re offering a little sip of old-school travel allure.
The Bellhop Bar by Loews Hotels opens a retrofitted steamer trunk — chock-full of spirits stored in antique apothecary-style bottles — in the lobby daily from 5-7 p.m. The interior trunk shelves are stocked with local pre-batched drinks, as well as domestic and sparkling wine. While the Bellhop is making an appearance in Loews hotels across the country, there’s an efforts to make them city-specific. In Nashville, cocktails include:
The Tennessee Revival: made with Angel’s Envy Bourbon, Firepot Soul Revival (the turmeric chai black tea from local tea purveyor Firepot) and orange bitters
The Nashville Hot: made with house-infused smoked jalapeño Hangar One Vodka, olive juice, pepperoncini juice and an olive oil mister, sort of a spicy martini
The trunk is designed to be evocative of the steamer trunks that were used for belongings on steamship travel in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
The Bellhop Bar will be set up in the lobby outside Mason’s … you’ll know it is open when bartender rings a bell to signal it is time to grab a drink. The Loews Nashville Hotel is located at 2100 West End Ave.
